About Customer OS TM

Customer OS was built for owner-led trade businesses that have often been underserved by traditional sales and customer-service training. These companies need professional development just as much as larger organizations—but lean teams, working owners and demanding operating schedules require a very different approach.

Why Customer OS Exists

More than two decades of work with trade and contractor businesses revealed a recurring gap. Many companies wanted stronger customer conversations, more consistent service and better sales discipline, but conventional training was typically designed for larger organizations with dedicated sales teams, training budgets and time available for formal classroom programs.

Further research pointed to something even more important: the problem was not simply access to training. The traditional training model often did not fit the way these businesses operate. Customer OS was created around that reality—bringing professional sales, service and coaching practices into a practical, owner-led system that can be implemented inside the normal rhythm of the company.

Built From Research and Experience

 Designed for Owners.

Customer OS combines primary experience from working directly with trade businesses, research into an underserved training market, and a delivery model designed around how lean, owner-led companies actually operate.

Better Team Customer Service. Better results.

Professional Design. Practical Application.

Customer OS was built from the field up. Its author, Paul Kidston began his career as an apprentice tradesman before moving into sales leadership, education and revenue management. Over more than two decades, he designed sales and Proactive Customer Service programs for trades and professional businesses often underserved by training companies focused on enterprise clients.

Designed for small and medium-sized companies, each industry program is researched around its technical language, customer situations, workflows and operating constraints. Trade terminology and customer-facing examples are reviewed and validated for credibility and practical application.

The 12-week learning architecture applies established adult-learning principles: contextualized learning, progressive skill development, spaced reinforcement, facilitated discussion, workplace application and practical performance-support tools. Weekly Customer Huddles™ connect learning directly to real customer situations, helping move knowledge from instruction into repeatable workplace behavior.

Programs are purchased digitally, and purchasers receive the editable source files (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) Companies can customize examples, terminology and policies—and even co-brand the materials.

That flexibility is a significant differentiator. Rather than purchasing fixed courseware, owners acquire a professionally designed operating resource they can adapt, reinforce and evolve with their business—creating value well beyond the original 12-week implementation.
